Drywall, also known as sheetrock, plasterboard, or wallboard, is a crucial aspect of construction and renovation projects. It is the material that creates walls and ceilings. Drywall is composed of a layer of gypsum plaster that is pressed between two thick sheets of paper, providing a flat and durable surface for painting or other finishing. Installing and repairing drywall is not always a straightforward process and takes finesse and skill to ensure a smooth final look.

What is the average cost of drywall installation?

This depends entirely on the size and complexity of your project. It can cost between $60 and $90 to lay one sheet of drywall, or $1.50-$3 per square foot. To finish one 12x12 foot room can cost, on average, anywhere from $800 to $1600. A 1000 square foot basement may average $2000-$5000. Various factors need to be considered include the type and thickness of the drywall needed, the level of finishing needed including any painting or specialization, and the size, shape, and height of the room.  We work with our clients to offer competitive pricing with affordable rates.

Why hire us?

Drywall is heavy and messy to deal with.  It comes in large sheets sometimes called sheetrock, and must be cut to fit precisely with the framing of your project. Installing and repairing drywall takes time and expertise to ensure a clean final look. A sloppy job cannot be hidden! You will see a curve in your wall, or cracks, seams, or small screw holes. Hiring a professional team of experts to do the heavy lifting and hard work will save you time and money in the end. We aim to be the best drywall company in Pittsburgh. Our contractors are efficient, tidy, and precise with their work, and offer the following guarantees:

  1. Expertise: our professionals bring in-depth knowledge and experience to ensure precise and flawless drywall installation, minimizing the risk of errors and imperfections.
  2. Efficiency: with our efficient workflow and years of experience, our team can complete a project swiftly, saving you invaluable time and allowing you to focus on other priorities.

  4. Customization: our team can offer tailored solutions to meet your specific requirements, taking into account any design preferences as well as architectural complexities of your space.
  5. Cost-effectiveness: DIY projects may seem cost-effective initially, however mistakes and imperfections can cause additional expenses in the long run. Additionally, you need a variety of costly tools to complete a simple drywall project well and efficiently. Hiring a professional ensures a job done right the first time, preventing the need for costly repairs or installation in the future.
  6. Safety: our team of professionals follow safety procedures and protocols during the installation and finishing processes. Prioritizing safety and minimizing potential hazards to ensure a safe and table result is our top priority.

How To Care For Your Walls and Ceilings

Routine care of your drywall is important to ensure longevity and prevent damage. Here are some tips to keep your walls and ceilings in good condition:

Avoid moisture. Fix any leaks or water damage promptly as moisture can cause significant damage to drywall. Ensure good ventilation in areas with high moisture, like bathrooms and kitchens.

Keep walls clean. Regularly dust or vacuum your walls to remove dirt and debris that undoubtedly accumulates over time. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can easily damage drywall or paint.

Repair damage promptly. If you notice any holes, dents or cracks in your walls or ceilings, repair them as soon as possible to prevent further damage. You can use spackle, joint compound, or your local drywall company to fill in holes and cracks, and sand the area before repainting.

Protect walls from furniture. Avoid leaning heavy furniture or decorations against your walls, as this could easily dent or damage it. Use furniture pads and bumpers to protect walls from scratches and dents.

Touch up paint as needed. Over time, the paint on your drywall may become scuffed, faded or dirty. Clean and touch up areas that may need it to keep the walls or ceiling looking fresh and new.

Inspect regularly. Check your drywall periodically for signs of damage. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage.
